The Rev. Evangeline Taylor is the primary pastor for congregational care and visitation at NPC. After a career as a soprano soloist with the United States Navy and The United States Army Bands, Evangeline was called to ministry, earning a BS at Park College in Human Resource Management followed by an M. Div. from The Virginia Theological Seminary, in Alexandria, VA.
Evangeline began her ministry as a Chaplain at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD and the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. In addition, she served as Stated Supply Minister at Community Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, VA and an Interim Pastor at Hope Presbyterian Church in Mitchellville, MD. She accepted a call as Solo Pastor at Unity Presbyterian Church in Temple Hill, MD, a position she held for more than 6 years.
Before coming to NPC in 2008, Evangeline completed extended Clinical Pastoral Education courses at the National Institutes of Health followed by a one year Intern Residence at the Veterans Administrative Medical Center in St. Cloud, MN. Evangeline and her husband Jeffrey live in Mount Vernon, VA. They have two married daughters and two granddaughters.
