NPC Children

Here at National we believe that children are a vital part of our worshipping community. We strive to create a safe and fun environment in which kids can develop their faith. Our NPC Children’s Ministries are committed to walking alongside families as they grow up together in Christ. We look forward to walking this winding and wonderful road with you!

Our Aim

Our aim is that children will connect with Christ as they hear about the love of Jesus and the Word of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Parent Visitors

We encourage parents to drop off their children at Sunday school and enjoy some adult discipleship for themselves! However, if you would like to check out your child's class you have two options.

1. Sign up to serve with the Parent Co-Op (prior to Sunday morning)!  Contact Children's Ministry Director Cate McCrory for more details.

2. Check in at the Front Desk. All visitors must check in at the Front Desk to notify our staff of your presence and receive a name tag. No exceptions.

Sunday School

Sundays, 9:30 – 10:45 a.m.

Children age 2 through 5th grade will be learning about the life of Jesus through a curriculum from Group Publishing called DIG IN: The Life of Jesus. Children may come directly from the 9 a.m. service or be dropped off at the school building. Parents pick up children in the school building.

Childcare

Sundays, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

We have separate, developmentally-specific nurseries staffed by loving, experienced caregivers. Both nurseries are located on the lower level of the main church building:

  • Crib Room (Babies 6 weeks - Crawling): Main Church ground floor, Room 16
  • Walker Room (Strong walkers up to 4 yrs.): Main Church ground floor, Room 7

Milestones in Worship

Milestones in Worship are a component of the Sunday School Program designed to help kids grow in faith and prepare them for being in worship. Each grade K-5 has a worship milestone to learn and lead in the worship service.

  • Kindergarten: The Doxology
  • 1st Grade: The Lord’s Prayer
  • 2nd Grade: The Apostle’s Creed
  • 3rd Grade: The Bible
  • 4th Grade: Communion
  • 5th Grade: Confession of Sin

Club 45

Club 45 is an awesome group of 4th and 5th-grade students that gather together to build relationships and connect with God through Scripture, service, and fun! During the fall, Club 45 will meet twice a month, to coincide with middle school youth group and our Faithful Families Parenting Series. We will be playing games, eating snacks, and ask big questions with our Be Bold! curriculum.

Fridays, 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room (next to the Youth House). For dates download our 2019/2020 calendar.

Volunteers

Like all church ministries, NPC Children depend on the time and energy of volunteers. We are deeply thankful for the parents, young professionals, NPC members, and seminary students who give their time to serve our kids. If you are interested in volunteering as a Club 45 leader, Sunday school teacher, or special event coordinator, please contact Cate McCrory.

Registration

In order to provide secure check-in/check-out for your child, we ask that you complete a brief registration the first time your child attends Sunday School each year.
