NPC Nominating Committee 2010-2011

The current Nominating Committee is seeking to identify persons within the National Presbyterian Church who can bring their unique abilities to the life of this particular community of Christians and enhance the growth of our Church in these challenging times.

The Nominating Committee is interested in:

NPC members who have been looking for ways to participate more actively in the life and mission of the Church, as a Deacon, an Elder, or a Trustee serving on the NPC Fund for Charitable Giving. The Committee is especially looking for NPC members with giving hearts, involved in ministry, and looking towards the future. The Committee is also interested in family members from our vibrant children and youth ministries who could contribute their unique perspectives.

NPC members who are willing, after prayerful consideration, to propose the name of a fellow congregant whose contributions to the Church would be especially valuable. Nominating forms are available at the Information Desk and on the NPC website. Completed forms can be placed in designated boxes at either end of the Narthex, or in the mailbox assigned to the Nominating Committee just inside the Administration Building, or you can contact anyone on the Committee. In addition to the name of a proposed candidate, it would be very helpful to include a few brief supporting comments (for example, how you know the candidate, and in what capacity you believe they would be good servants within the leadership at NPC).

If you receive a call from the Nominating Committee:

Be prepared to prayerfully consider this opportunity to serve in the leadership of NPC. If you need some time to think about this commitment, please inform the Nominating Committee and they will follow up with a subsequent call in a timely manner.

Please feel comfortable asking as many questions as you need to help confirm your understanding of the responsibilities of service, and ultimately, your response.

After considering this call to service, if you feel unable to accept the nomination at present, but might possibly take on a role in the future, please inform the Committee so that your interest can be kept on record.

Nominations may be e-mailed to nominations@nationalpres.org, placed in the Nominating Committee mailbox in the Administration Building, mailed to the Officer Nominating Committee, National Presbyterian Church, 4101 Nebraska Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20016 or delivered to a committee member.
